Iván Lavandera García, professor of organic chemistry at the University of Oviedo, Spain, passed away after a long battle with cancer on February 13, 2025, at the age of only 48. Iván was a fantastic friend, colleague, and a dedicated mentor to many students, who profited from his innovative, forward-thinking, and team-oriented spirit which pushed the boundaries of biocatalysis and bioorganic chemistry. He will be remembered as one of the most cheerful and passionate chemists, a fantastic colleague, and, most of all, a dear friend.

Vijay Nair, one of India's most prominent organic chemists, passed away on April 12, 2024 at the age of 82. After a distinguished research career in the U.S. pharmaceutical industry, he returned to India to lead what was to become the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST). During this second phase of his career, he made fundamentally important contributions to the art of organic synthesis and mentored a number of organic chemists.

Günter Wulff, internationally well known for his invention of Molecular Imprinting, passed away on December 11, 2023 in Erkrath-Hochdahl, Germany, not far from the University of Düsseldorf, where he made his greatest discoveries. A passionate researcher and deep conceptual thinker, he greatly advanced our understanding of polymer chemistry.
