A novel intronic circular RNA, circGNG7, inhibits head and neck squamous cell carcinoma progression by blocking the phosphorylation of heat shock protein 27 at Ser78 and Ser82

A novel intronic circular RNA, circGNG7, inhibits head and neck squamous cell carcinoma progression by blocking the phosphorylation of heat shock protein 27 at Ser78 and Ser82

That circGNG7, regulated by SMAD4, could bind with serine residues 78, and 82, occupy the phosphorylation site of functional protein HSP27, thus hinder the phosphorylation of HSP27, which reduces the HSP27-JNK/P38 MAPK oncogenic signaling and inhibits HNSCC progression.

The role of non-coding RNAs in drug resistance of oral squamous cell carcinoma and therapeutic potential

The role of non-coding RNAs in drug resistance of oral squamous cell carcinoma and therapeutic potential

The mechanisms of drug resistance are intricate and involve drug efflux, epithelial mesenchymal transition, DNA damage repair, and autophagy. Nano-delivery and self-cellular drug delivery platforms have a broad prospective for alleviating OSCC drug resistance. In particular, the combined application of new technologies (including CRISPR systems) opens up new horizons for treatment of OSCC drug resistance.

Individualized elective irradiation of the clinically node-negative neck in definitive radiotherapy for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

Individualized elective irradiation of the clinically node-negative neck in definitive radiotherapy for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

Framework of individualized and computer-aided elective neck irradiation. Firstly, we proposed individual elective neck irradiation schemes for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. based on the actual incidence of lymph nodes metastasis and the tumor characteristics. Secondly, we developed a publicly available online tool to facilitate the widespread clinical use of these schemes. By inputting the characteristics of the primary tumor and metastatic LNs on this online tool, elective irradiation schemes for the right and left sides of the neck were recommended and delineated based on a set of CT scans.
