Age and thyroid volume were independent risk factors for the occurrence of nonhealing or recurrence of hyperthyroidism (NHRH) in female patients. Only free thyroxine (FT4) was independently associated with the occurrence of NHRH in male patients.

For this, interventions must address multiple barriers that deter some individuals from establishing a primary care usual source of care.

This study evaluates the urban medical group's performance using the Donabedian model from the triangular value chain, emphasizing safety and quality, accessibility, and affordability. The group's implementation in Dapeng New District has significantly improved healthcare access, safety, and affordability. Future initiatives aim to enhance the “Dapeng Mode” for better healthcare outcomes and minimize disparities in health services and status between urban and rural populations.

Telemedicine in Action: Improving Perceived Healthcare Accessibility in Rural China

The present study found that telemedicine significantly enhanced rural residents' perceived healthcare accessibility, with particularly notable benefits for those in sparsely populated areas, regions with high-speed internet access, within the purview of compact healthcare consortiums, and those with access to family doctor services. Furthermore, telemedicine improved rural residents' perceived healthcare accessibility by encouraging the use of primary care services.

Surgical and Medical Co-Management in an 82-Year-Old Patient With Hemophilia a Undergoing Pancreaticoduodenectomy

The surgical and medical co-management (SMC) team integrates internists and surgeons to improve perioperative planning to minimize complications and promote recovery. SMCs team implemented various perioperative optimization strategies for the patient to prevent complications and enhance satisfaction. This case illustrates the utility of a shift from passive and conservative treatment to active and preventive treatment and highlights the value of SMC in many complex clinical situations.
