Interferon Type I Regulates Inflammasome Activation and High Mobility Group Box 1 Translocation in Hepatocytes During Ehrlichia-Induced Acute Liver Injury

IFN-I signaling exacerbate liver pathology and contribute to sepsis following fatal Ehrlichia infection by promoting Ehrlichia replication and mediating detrimental inflammasome activation.

Adherence to Ideal Cardiovascular Health Metrics Is Associated With Reduced Odds of Hepatic Steatosis

The American Heart Association (AHA) introduced Life's Simple 7 as a metric to define ideal cardiovascular health. We examined the association between cardiovascular health score (CHS) and prevalent nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) among Framingham Heart Study participants with varying genetic risk of NAFLD. Adhering to the AHA Life's Simple 7 metrics was associated with reduced odds of prevalent NAFLD, particularly for those at high genetic risk.

Pilot Study Using Machine Learning to Identify Immune Profiles for the Prediction of Early Virological Relapse After Stopping Nucleos(t)ide Analogues in HBeAg-Negative CHB

Soluble immune markers (SIMs) are associated with the risk of virological relapse in HBeAg-negative patients with chronic hepatitis B after discontinuation of nucleos(t)ide analogue therapy. Machine learning identified a combination of five SIMs (IL-2, MIG, RANTES, SCF, and TRAIL), which are highly predictive for virological relapse (AUC 0.89; CI: 0.5-1.1) and can be validated in an independent cohort (AUC 0.63; CI: 0.1-0.99).

Point Shear-Wave Elastography Using Acoustic Radiation Force Impulse Imaging for the Prediction of Liver-Related Events in Patients With Chronic Viral Hepatitis

Chronic viral hepatitis is associated with substantial morbidity and mortality worldwide. Our study shows good comparability of point shear wave elastography (pSWE) and transient elastography. pSWE is a promising tool for the prediction of liver-related events in patients with viral hepatitis, particularly in patients with cHCV.
