This special issue explores the recent advances in fire-retardant polymers and composites. It comprises Review and Research articles including the article “A Reactive Cyclic Phosphonamide Flame Retardant for Epoxy Resins” from Zhun Li and colleagues. The cover image was adapted from this work in which the residues of burnt neat EP and EP-8FR were inspected by SEM. It is evident from this image that the surface of the char produced by the combustion of neat EP is porous. DOI: 10.1002/app.47411
