The compatibilities and properties of nonwoven nylon fabrics coated with the PU/polyhydric-alcoholblended films were investigated by Seung Geol Lee and colleagues. Its application to fabric coatings affects the fixation properties of coated fabrics because PU-polyol blends are more hydrophilic and are easily attached to fabrics due to their low viscosities. The porosities of the PU/PPG- and PU/glycerolblended films increased with increasing polyhydric alcohol concentration to enhance the water-absorption behavior. Air permeability and water-vapor permeability (WVP) increased with increasing PPG and glycerol contents. The potential applications are breathable fabrics, synthetic leather, automotive interiors, and anti-shrinking wool, among others that require ventilation as coating materials for fabrics. 2,5-Furandicarboxylic acid as a sustainable alternative to isophthalic acid for synthesis of amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) copolyester with enhanced performance

As a bio-based alternative to IPA for the modification of PET, FDCA is more effective in terms of reducing the crystallization activity of PET, and enhanced properties could be obtained.
