Capillary malformation-arteriovenous malformation (CM-AVM) syndrome, with or without Parkes Weber syndrome, is a rare autosomal dominant disease. We here present a Parkes Weber syndrome patient with a negative family history and a mosaic RASA1 loss-of-function mutation detected with a variant allele frequency of 20% in her blood and oral epithelial cells. Our case report and literature review demonstrate the importance of genetic mosaicism in CM-AVM and further illustrate the increasing complexity of genetic diagnostics.
