Ecology of Freshwater Fish is a fish biology journal publishing fundamental fish ecology research. We support conservation of fishes and their habitats. Published research includes studies from all freshwater environments - lakes, reservoirs, rivers, and streams.

Our journal seeks to advance or test knowledge of the behavioral ecology, community ecology, evolutionary ecology, historical ecology, and population ecology of freshwater fishes, including articles specifically addressing conservation, development, genetics, life history, physiology, and host-parasite interactions. We publish original articles, perspectives, and reviews - some of which comprise the proceedings of conferences and symposia. Authors are encouraged to read further details in the Aims and Scope and the Editorial Practices of the journal.
