Virtual Issue: Continuing the Progress in Pediatric Obesity Care

While there have been major strides in prevention and treatment efforts around childhood obesity over the past decade, including anti-obesity medication and multilevel intervention approaches, there is still a lot of work to be done. Specifically, there is a need to make our efforts in this area equitable, scalable, and sustainable. The Pediatric Obesity Section of The Obesity Society has put together a selection of recent Obesity articles that highlight these issues in childhood obesity research and treatment.

Retatrutide and dual agonists achieved similar mean weight loss (−11.0 kg), surpassing GLP-1RAs (−9.0 kg). Retatrutide was more effective in attaining 〉 15% weight loss from baseline, but with a higher risk of adverse effects, while dual agonists offer a favorable efficacy-safety balance.
