In this paper,α,β–Unsaturated N– benzenesulfonyl imine was treated with 1.1 eq methyllithium to afford 1,2–addition adduct as a sole product. However, when α,β–Unsaturated N– benzenesulfonyl imine was treated with 2 eq MeLi, 1,2–addition product, benzenesulfonamide derivative and 2H–1,2– benzothiazine 1,1–dioxide derivatives were isolated. More details will be discussed in this issue on page 573–576.

Reactions of a,ß-unsaturated N-benzenesulfonyl Imine – N-[(2E)-3-phenyl-2-propen-1-ylidene]benzenesulfonamide with Methyllithium

α,β-Unsaturated N-benzenesulfonyl imine 1 was treated with 1.1 eq methyllithium to afford 1,2-addition adduct as a sole product. However, when compound 1 was treated with 2 eq MeLi, 1,2-addition product, benzenesulfonamide derivative 3 and 2H-1,2-benzothiazine 1,1-dioxide derivatives 4 and 5 were isolated.

Effect of the Reaction Alkaline Environment on the Morphology and Spectroscopic Characterizations of ZnO-Graphene Composite

The concentration of NaOH solution had an important effect on the ZnO-graphene composite. With increasing the concentration of NaOH solution, the defects of the composite firstly increased, and then decreased, which affected the change of spectral characteristics. The structure and interface electronic interaction between ZnO and graphene will be useful for designing ZnO-graphene based photoelectrical devices.

Anharmonic Effect of the Unimolecular Dissociation of HFCO and DFCO

The unimolecular reactions of HFCO and DFCO have been studied by RRKM theory. The barriers are calculated at MP2/6-311++G(3df,3pd) level. The harmonic and anharmonic rate constants of the HFCO and DFCO decompositions have been calculated.

Influence of Support Type and Metal Loading in Methane Decomposition over Iron Catalyst for Hydrogen Production

Hydrogen is a superb energy carrier. The characterization of CH4 decomposition using MgO, TiO2 and Al2O3 catalysts revealed the formation of multi-walled nanotubes. Methane conversion increased and catalyst surface areas decreased as the % Fe loading was increased. 60%Fe/Al2O3 gave the highest catalytic activity of 69% CH4 conversion.

The Influence of Concentration on the Morphology of Fibres Self-assembled by Ferrocenyl Surfacant and Methyl Orange

The fibres were prepared by combining surfactant N, N-dimethylferrocenylmethyl hexadecyl-ammonium bromide (Fc16AB) and fluorescent dye methyl orange (MO) using ion self-assembly techniques. The concentration of Fc16AB and MO have great effects on the morphology of obtained microfibers.

Magnetically-recoverable Schiff Base Complex of Pd (II) Immobilized on Fe3O4@SiO2 Nanoparticles: An Efficient Catalyst for Mizoroki-Heck and Suzuki-Miyaura Coupling Reactions

The activity of Pd(II)-Schiff base complex molecules grafted on the surface of Fe3O4@SiO2 particles were investigated in the palladium-catalyzed coupling reactions of aryl halides with alkenes (Mizoroki-Heck reaction) and phenylboronic acids (Suzuki-Miyaura reaction) in the absence of phosphorous ligands.

A series of novel N-aryl-4-(tert-butyl)-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)thiazol-2-amine were synthesized. H2O2-NaBr Brominating system was used in the synthesis of the key intermediate in a mild condition. All of the target compounds were tested for their cytotoxicity against two different human cancer cell lines. Some of the title compounds showed moderate to strong cytotoxic activities.

Nano TiO2 Modified Carbon-ceramic Electrode and Its Application for Electrocatalytic Oxidation of NADH

The electrocatalytic oxidation of NADH was studied on nanoTiO2 modified sol-gel electrode, using cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry and differential pulse voltammetry as diagnostic techniques. TiO2 nanoparticles on sol-gel network catalyze the oxidation of NADH in the absence of any electron transfer mediators. This method was used for determination of NADH in cucumber cotyledons using DPV with detection limit of 0.35 μM.

Simple and Sensitive Voltammetric Determination of Esculetin Using Electrochemically Reduced Graphene Oxide Modified Electrode

A simple but sensitive sensor, ERGO/GCE, was fabricated by coating of GO solution on GCE surface and then electrochemically reduced to ERGO by successive CV scanning. As a voltammetric sensor, ERGO/GCE not only could be obtained simply, but also showed more sensitive response for ESC. Based on this property, a new voltammetric method for determination of ESC was proposed. The advantages of present method were high sensitivity, wider linear range, good accuracy and precision.
