Fiber Bundle Regions with Statistically Significant Differences in WM Microstructure between Groups Based on Traditional DTI Metrics (FA, MD) and DFA Metrics (Splay, Bend, Twist, and Total Distortion). This study aimed to identify imaging biomarkers for the efficacy of methylprednisolone pulse therapy (MPPT) in thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO). Using 3D fast spin echo with 2-point Dixon-based fat suppression sequence, the authors measured volume and water fraction of orbital soft tissues and developed a classification model. Results showed that mean water fraction of extraocular muscles can be used to evaluate MPPT efficacy, while volume cannot. This article introduces a simple and effective biomarker and the supporting MRI sequence for MPPT outcomes in TAO patients.
