Review on Preparation, Modification and Application of Nano-Calcium Carbonate

Nano-CaCO3 is a potential nanomaterial at present. In this paper, the preparation process (physical and chemical methods), modification methods (physical and chemical modification), and application fields (chemical, energy, food, biomedicine, and environment industries) of nano-CaCO3 are introduced and discussed. This provides theoretical guidance for people who understand the field.

Synthesis, Characterization, and Evaluation of Antioxidant, Anti-Inflammatory, and Antimicrobial Activities of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles Using Adiantum capillus-veneris L. Leaf Extract

Bio-fabricates ZnO-NPs from A. capillus-veneris L. plant, evaluating their antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects. UV–vis absorption at 360 nm confirms production success. X-ray diffraction verifies hexagonal crystallinity, while Scanning Electron Microscope images show spherical nanoparticles. Energy Dispersive X-Ray analysis confirms high purity with only zinc and oxygen. ZnO-NPs effectively inhibit both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria due to plant leaf bioactive compounds.

Solvent Vapor Annealing and Plasma Treatment Stabilize Silver Nanowire Layers

Silver nanowires are used in transparent conductive electrodes but suffer from atmospheric corrosion. Existing stabilization techniques for silver nanowire layers require embedding or submersion in liquid. Here, solvent vapor annealing and plasma treatment are identified as alternative stabilization approaches. Solvent vapor annealing has additional potential to create polymer matrix/nanowire composites from all-colloidal precursors, avoiding film transfer, or viscous polymer solutions.

Self-Assembly of UiO-66 on Conjugated Polyelectrolytes: Toward Enhanced Photophysical Properties

This study reports fluorescent MOF-polymer composites based on Zr-MOFs (UiO-66 and UiO-66(OH)₂) and the conjugated polyelectrolyte PPE-CO₂-108. The defect-rich Zr-MOFs enable strong interactions between the polyelectrolyte's carboxylate groups and the MOF's Zr clusters. Characterized by multiple techniques, these composites show strong fluorescence and enhanced photostability, ideal for fluorescence imaging and sensing applications.

Seed-Mediated Synthesis of Gold Nanobipyramids at Low CTAB Concentration Using Binary Surfactants

This study introduces a dual surfactant approach with CTAB and sodium oleate in the seed-mediated synthesis of the AuNBPs, which can significantly reduce the CTAB concentration to 10 mM. Additionally, optimal growth conditions are achieved by varying the volumes of seed solution, AgNO3, and HCl. This work provides a framework applicable to the synthesis of other metallic nanomaterials.

Rapid Synthesis of Uniformly Small Nickel Nanoparticles for the Surface Functionalization of Epitaxial Graphene

This work introduces a novel method for producing small (≈11 nm), uniform Ni nanoparticles (Ni NPs), under mild conditions and in short times. These nanoparticles are stabilized in air by a protective capping layer (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, CTAB). Epitaxial graphene samples functionalized with the synthesized Ni NPs exhibit thermal stability up to 550 °C, paving the way for advanced applications.

Rapamycin Liposomes Targeted to Lymph Nodes Inhibit Dendritic Cell Maturation for the Treatment of Transplant Rejection

Rapamycin Liposomes Targeted to Lymph Nodes Inhibit Dendritic Cell Maturation for the Treatment of Transplant Rejection

A kind of lipid nanoparticle containing rapamycin (LNP@rapa) is prepared. Following subcutaneous injection, LNP@rapa gains entry into lymph nodes via phagocytosis by immature dendritic cell (imDCs). Rapamycin's action involves the inhibition of imDC maturation by restraining the mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway, culminating in costimulation blockade with T cells, and thus mitigating transplant rejection.

Pristine and Nature-Inspired Hematite (α-Fe2O3) Nanoparticles and Search for their Photocatalytic Application

Green synthesis of hematite nanoparticles modulates their size, strain, optical, and photocatalytic properties. These nanoparticles act as visible light photocatalyst for dye degradation. Present study highlights that using commercially cheap starting materials and extract made from naturally available plant parts, materials having huge application potentials can be synthesized at low-cost by the simple green synthesis approach.

Positron Emission Tomography-Assisted Photothermal Therapy with Gold Nanorods

This study explores nanoparticle-assisted photothermal therapy by assessing gold nanorods (AuNRs) of various aspect ratios and surface functionalization as photothermal agents. In vivo positron emission tomography imaging highlights enhanced tumor accumulation of carboxylic acid-functionalized AuNRs, sufficient for effective hyperthermal cell death in a mouse breast cancer model.
