At Angewandte Chemie Novit, we do not accept direct submissions. Instead, we carefully select from the high-quality research submitted to Angewandte Chemie. Our unique, multi-step manuscript selection process ensures that we identify articles based on their scientific merit and potential long-term impact. Our dedicated team of in-house editors and Scientific Advisory Committee work together to identify the most exceptional manuscripts that have successfully undergone the fair, rigorous, and timely peer-review process at Angewandte Chemie. Authors of these hand-selected manuscripts will be invited to publish their articles in Angewandte Chemie Novit. The final choice lies with the authors: They can either accept the offer for up-transfer to Angewandte Chemie Novit and benefit from increased visibility and exclusive promotional activities, or they can choose the traditional route and publish their work in Angewandte Chemie.

Step-by-step to Angewandte Chemie Novit:

  1. The author submits the manuscript to Angewandte Chemie.
  2. The handling editor sends the manuscript for external peer review after a positive editorial assessment.
  3. The manuscript receives excellent reports and the highest ratings during the peer review process.
  4. The handling editor flags the manuscript to be evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief.
  5. After a positive evaluation by the Editor-in-Chief, the manuscript is presented to one Advisory Editor with matching topical expertise.
  6. The Advisory Editor recommends the manuscript for publication in Angewandte Chemie Novit.
  7. The Editor-in-Chief invites the author to up-transfer the manuscript to Angewandte Chemie Novit.
  8. The author accepts the invitation.
  9. The manuscript is published open access in Angewandte Chemie Novit.
