Thin-Film Photovoltaics 2013

1 November 2013
26 May 2024

This issue is now published.

Description

The scientific community has reacted very positively to the previous two special issues on “Thin-Film Photovoltaics” (TFPV) that were published in 2010 and 2012 in this journal, so we thought that the 2013 will continue the series of annual special issues on TFPV.

The growing demand for energy, arising from dependence on electrical and electronic devices, has spurred many scientists to seek innovative and efficient collection of sunlight to convert it into electricity. This is evidenced by the growing number of academic and industrial laboratories, patents, and publications appeared in the primary scientific literature. The aim of this special issue is to collect contributions for solar-to-electrical conversion. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Inorganic cells (CIS, CIGS, CdTe, amorphous silicon)
  • Organic cells
  • Dye-sensitized cells
  • Third-generation cells
  • Technologies for photovoltaic applications

Papers about scientific breakthrough, technical matters, industrialization, and economic investigation are all welcome. For the already commercialized inorganic cells, recent improvements and achievements for next generation products can be presented.
