A variety of electrochemical water treatment processes for drinking water, industrial and municipal wastewater are presented. This overview ranges from classical methods, such as electrodialysis, to remove inorganic substances to current processes for the removal of trace substances or disinfection as well as for the energy production from organically contaminated wastewater.

Die Bedeutung der Gewinnung und Rückgewinnung von Rohstoffen nimmt immer mehr zu. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird ein neues, elektrochemisches Verfahren vorgestellt, mit dem Wertstoffe aus Klärschlammaschen, Verbrennungsschlacken und Bergbauhalden herausgelöst und zurückgewonnen werden können.

Polypyrrole as the Active Material for Potentiometric Sensors

Since the discovery of conducting polymers about 25 years ago intensive investigations have been carried out on the physical and chemical properties of these materials and their possible applications, including the development of new types of chemical sensors. In the present study two types of sensor applications using polypyride as the active material will be considered.
