De Ritis ratio and long-term major cardiovascular adverse events in patients undergoing elective percutaneous coronary intervention

This study assessed the association of aspartate aminotransferase to alanine aminotransferase ratio (De Ritis ratio) with clinical outcomes in 5020 patients with chronic coronary syndromes. At 3 years, all-cause deaths occurred in 5.0%, 7.5% and 14.5% of patients with De Ritis ratio in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd tertiles, respectively (adjusted hazard ratio = 1.09, 95% confidence interval 1.06 to 1.12, p < .001). Elevated De Ritis ratio was associated with the increased risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with chronic coronary syndromes.

The influence of viral protein R amino acid substitutions on clinical outcomes in people living with HIV: A systematic review

The reviewed studies consistently showed that the Vpr substitution 63T was associated with slower disease progression, whereas 77H and 85P were associated with no significant contribution to disease progression. Regardless of higher viral load and CD4+ counts, studies still report an association of Vpr amino acid substitutions with negative clinical outcomes in PLWH.
