Epidemiology and risk factors for histopathologic characteristics of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in South America

Large retrospective study addressing NAFLD in 5 countries in South America including >2500 patients. Associations with comorbidities and liver fibrosis were performed. Diabetes, hypertension and the metabolic syndrome were associated with higher liver fibrosis.
