Systematic review and meta-analysis: Association between liver fibrosis and subclinical atherosclerosis in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

This graphical abstract highlights the association between liver fibrosis and subclinical atherosclerosis at different fibrosis levels. Diagnostic techniques such as liver biopsy (LB), magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), and transient elastography (TE) are used to diagnose liver fibrosis, while arterial stiffness (AS), coronary artery calcium (CAC) score, and intima-media thickness (IMT) serve as markers for subclinical atherosclerosis.

Faecal and urine metabolites, but not gut microbiota, may predict response to low FODMAP diet in irritable bowel syndrome

This study investigated differences at baseline between people with irritable bowel syndrome that responded and those that did not respond to a 4-week intervetion of a sham diet, a low FODMAP diet or a low FODMAP diet supplemented with prebiotic galactooligosaccharides. The purpose of this study was to identify predictors of response to the dietary interventions.

Detection of changes in regional colonic fermentation in response to supplementing a low FODMAP diet with dietary fibres by hydrogen concentrations, but not by luminal pH

Changes in regional colonic fermentation in response to supplementing low FODMAP diets with dietary fibres were detected by measurement of luminal hydrogen but not luminal pH.
