Development of Melting System for Measurement of Trace Elements and Ions in Ice Core

The melting system installed in a freezer under a clean booth (class 100) and the ratios of signal intensity (SIR) of elements in blank artificial ice core to the elements in system blank from three zones of melting head during melting procedures. The ratio with one standard deviation is represented (n = 3).

A Sensitive C. elegans Chemotaxis Assay Using Microfluidic Device Generating a Linear Gradient of Chemoeffectors

A microfluidic chemotaxis assay system for Caenorhabditis elegans is developed by combing a micropost array with a microfluidic device, generating a stable linear gradient of chemoeffectors.

Microstructure and Properties of BaTiO3
Ferroelectric Films Prepared by DC Micro Arc Oxidation

The BaTiO3 film prepared with optimal additives was mainly composed of tetragonal-phase BaTiO3 and had a saturated electric hysteresis loop.

Synthesis and Characterization of Rhodium(I) Complexes with P–N Donor Ligands and Their Catalytic Application in Transfer Hydrogenation of Carbonyl Group

Synthesis and characterization of three neutral complexes of Rh(I) with 2-[2-(diphenylphosphino) ethyl]pyridine, (PPh2Etpy) (a), 2-(diphenylphosphino)pyridine (PPh2py) (b), and 3-(diphenylphosphino)-1-propylamine (PPh2 (CH2 ) 3NH2 ) (c) are reported. These complexes exhibit good catalytic activity toward the transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl compounds to the corresponding alcohols with high conversion rate.

Cytocompatibility Optimization for Silica Coating of Individual HeLa Cells

Bioinspired silicification has attracted a great deal of attention as a cytocompatible method for encapsulating proteins and living cells. Although bioinspired silicification has successfully been applied to the individual encapsulation of the microbial cells that possess durable cell walls, the conditions for the silica coating of mammalian cells remain to be optimized. In this work, we systematically varied the silicification conditions and optimized them for silica coating of HeLa cells as a model.
