Overview

Aims and Scope

Cancer Reports is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal publishing basic, translational, clinical and interdisciplinary research in cancer biology, diagnosis, treatment, outcome, supportive care, epidemiology and health disparities. The journal considers data-driven, scientifically valid findings including incremental findings, pilot studies, replication and negative findings. Cancer Reports is a Wiley Open Access journal, one of a new series of peer reviewed titles publishing quality research with speed and efficiency. For more information visit the Wiley Open Access website.

Article types: Original Research, Brief Report, Method Report, Clinical Study Report, Registered Report, Case Report and Review (literature and systematic). Click here for more details. Cancer Reports publishes papers submitted directly to the journal and those referred from a select group of prestigious journals published by Wiley.

Peer Review and Manuscript Evaluation Criteria

The journal uses a single-blind peer review model: editors and reviewers have access to the authors' names and institutions; however, the identities of the reviewers are not revealed to the authors (except at the request of the referee). Manuscript evaluation criteria for all submissions (direct, referred and invited) are scientific rigor, evidence that the data support conclusions, adherence to technical and ethical standards, and the scope of the journal.

If the journal receives a paper authored by an Editorial Board member, the concerned Editor will have no involvement in the editorial process of manuscripts submitted to the journal, no access to any confidential information, and have no input into the final decisions made by the Editor-in-Chief.

Launch and Editorial Team

Cancer Reports was launched in 2018 with the viewpoint that all sound data and evidence-driven cancer research has value and should be published and shared with the community. It is managed by a diverse Editorial Board led by an in-house Editor-in-Chief who is supported by a global team of researchers and clinicians from acclaimed institutes, hospitals and the pharmaceutical industry. The EiC, Associate Editors and the Advisory board work together to evaluate all manuscripts and publish studies that are scientifically valid, technically rigorous, robust in data analysis and conform to the ethical standards outlined in the journal guidelines.
