Immunity, Inflammation and Disease is inviting applications for the role of Statistical Editor
Immunity, Inflammation and Disease is an interdisciplinary journal focused on the rapid dissemination of robust research across the broad field of immunology. Our scope covers both clinical and basic science, welcoming contributions in areas such as cellular and molecular immunology, clinical immunology, allergy, immune signalling, infection models and more. The Role
The Statistical Editor works closely with the Editor-in-Chief in helping to steer and manage the journal, playing an active role in the appraisal of manuscripts that require a statistical input. The key responsibility as a statistician will be to:
- Appraise all papers that require a statistical editor
- Contribute to the decision-making process of manuscripts
- Ensure the quality and soundness of articles published in the journal, by considering the accurate use of research methods and the robustness of statistical methods
- Liaise with authors, reviewers, Deputy Editors, the Editor-in-Chief and the Publisher regarding the manuscript’s statistical appraisal.

There is an annual honorarium of $3000, and the contract term will be for one year initially.
What we Require
Ideal candidates will have a record of publication in journals of good standing and be a recognized scholar in the area of statistics in the field of immunology, infectious diseases or relevant biomedical research.
Sufficient experience as a reviewer in refereed academic journals as well as previous experience as an editor in refereed academic journals, either as an Associate Editor or special issue editor, would be desirable but not essential.
