Society Information
The International Society of Zoological Sciences (ISZS) is an independent, nonprofit organization of zoological scientists, and is a member of the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS). The ISZS aims to integrate the diverse branches of the zoological sciences by improving communication between zoologists and between their organizations, increasing the resources available for the conduct of zoological sciences and promoting collaboration and co-operation between the different specialized fields of zoological sciences.
The major activities of ISZS include the International Congress
of Zoology, held every 4 years, as the pre-eminent forum for
interaction among zoological scientists; operation of a permanent
website that provides a forum for discussion and debate, including
planning of congresses, and as a portal for zoological information
and advice; and co-ordinating with and hosting (as appropriate) the
International Commission of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN). The
ISZS publishes the journal Integrative Zoology and
the proceedings of each Congress.
