Author Guidelines

Business and Society Review publishes articles that address a wide range of ethical and social issues concerning the relationship between business, society, and the public good. Articles in the Review present original research, analysis and commentary from business people, academics, members of the legal profession, government administrators, and many others. The multidisciplinary approach of the journal is intended to encourage contributors to explore fully the origins, implications, and possible resolution of the immense variety of issues surrounding the value dimensions of business in the contemporary world. 

Submission

Authors should kindly note that submission implies that the content has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere except as a brief abstract in the proceedings of a scientific meeting or symposium. Once the submission materials have been prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines, manuscripts should be submitted online at https://wiley.atyponrex.com/journal/BASR.

By submitting a manuscript to or reviewing for this publication, your name, email address, and affiliation, and other contact details the publication might require, will be used for the regular operations of the publication, including, when necessary, sharing with the publisher (Wiley) and partners for production and publication. • All submissions should be double-spaced with standard margins. The journal prefers articles of no more than 10,000 words.

• Data, tables, and illustrations should conform to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition) style guide. 

• References should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition). This means in text citations should follow the author-date method whereby the author's last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text, for example, (Jones, 1998). The complete reference list should appear alphabetically by name at the end of the paper.

For more information about APA referencing style, please refer to the APA FAQ. Please note that for journal articles, issue numbers are not included unless each issue in the volume begins with page one.

• References should be kept to a minimum and should be double-spaced on a separate page or pages at the end of the article.

• All submissions should include a separate abstract and the full name, affiliation, and address of the author or authors.

• All submissions will be peer reviewed. The reviewers' recommendations is subject to approval by the editor. Authors whose articles are accepted for publication will be expected to submit a final electronic copy of the article in a standard word-processing format, e.g., Word or WordPerfect. Manuscripts that are not accepted will not be returned to authors.

• Manuscripts submitted for publication should be clearly written and accessible to a wide readership and are accepted for consideration with the understanding that they represent original work that is not being considered for publication elsewhere. On occasion papers will be invited by the editor.

Proofs

Authors will receive an e-mail notification with a link and instructions for accessing HTML page proofs online. Page proofs should be carefully proofread for any copyediting or typesetting errors. Online guidelines are provided within the system. No special software is required, all common browsers are supported. Authors should also make sure that any renumbered tables, figures, or references match text citations and that figure legends correspond with text citations and actual figures. Proofs must be returned within 48 hours of receipt of the email. Return of proofs via e-mail is possible in the event that the online system cannot be used or accessed.

Early View

Business and Society Review is covered by Wiley’s Early View service. Early View articles are complete full-text articles published online in advance of their publication in an issue. Articles are therefore available as soon as they are ready, rather than having to wait for the next scheduled issue. Early View articles are complete and final. They have been fully reviewed, revised and edited for publication, and the authors’ final corrections have been incorporated. Because they are in final form, no changes can be made after online publication. The nature of Early View articles means that they do not yet have volume, issue or page numbers, so Early View articles cannot be cited in the traditional way. They are therefore given a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which allows the article to be cited and tracked before it is allocated to an issue. After print publication, the DOI remains valid and can continue to be used to cite and access the article.

Author Services

Author Services enables authors to track their accepted article through the production process to publication online and in print. Authors can check the status of their articles online and choose to receive automated emails at key stages of production. The author will receive an email with a unique link that enables them to register and have their article automatically added to the system. Wiley’s Author Name Change Policy

In cases where authors wish to change their name following publication, Wiley will update and republish the paper and redeliver the updated metadata to indexing services. Our editorial and production teams will use discretion in recognizing that name changes may be of a sensitive and private nature for various reasons including (but not limited to) alignment with gender identity, or as a result of marriage, divorce, or religious conversion. Accordingly, to protect the author’s privacy, we will not publish a correction notice to the paper, and we will not notify co-authors of the change. Authors should contact the journal’s Editorial Office with their name change request.

 Refer and Transfer Program

Wiley believes that no valuable research should go unshared. This journal participates in Wiley's Refer & Transfer program. If your manuscript is not accepted, you may recieve a recommendation to transfer the manuscript to another suitable Wiley journal, either through a referral from the journal's editor or through our Transfer Desk Assistant.

Copyright/License Agreement

If your paper is accepted, the author identified as the formal corresponding author for the paper will receive an email prompting them to login into Author Services, where via the Wiley Author Licensing Service (WALS) they will be able to complete the license agreement on behalf of all authors on the paper.

For authors signing the copyright transfer agreement

If the open access option is not selected the corresponding author will be presented with the copyright transfer agreement (CTA) to sign. The terms and conditions of the CTA can be previewed in the samples associated with the Copyright FAQs.

- Scholars in our field to propose new areas of interest and importance for the business and society domain as the world and its citizens prepares to face unprecedented challenges.
- Contributions to our understandings of how business, society, and the natural environment interact, and the implications of those interactions.
