Overview
The Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics publishes articles related to nutritional science, clinical nutrition, dietetics practice and public health nutrition. The scope of the journal recognises the breadth and multidisciplinary nature of nutrition and dietetics research and will consider material from all facets of the discipline.

Aims and Scope
Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics is an international peer-reviewed journal publishing papers in applied nutrition and dietetics. Papers are welcomed in the following article categories:

- Economic evaluations
- Implementation studies which apply research evidence to clinical practice

- Nutrigenomics and molecular nutrition research
- Observational studies
- Qualitative and mixed-methods research
- Policy and public health studies
- Randomised controlled trials
- Systematic review and meta-analysis3
- Tool development and validation4
1 includes studies of specific nutrients and dietary patterns; foods as nutrient sources; sustainability of the socioecological system; nutritional physiology; microbiome studies; psychosocial determinants of nutritional status and; metabolic studies.
2 trials should be registered with a trials database.
3 should make use of recognised quality frameworks (e.g. Cochrane, PRISMA, Joanna Briggs Institute)
4 includes development and validation of nutrition screening tools; nutritional assessment tools.
The journal does not publish animal research.
Narrative reviews are generally only considered following invitation or prior discussion with the Reviews editor team.
The journal editors are committed to deliver initial decisions on manuscripts within 6-8 weeks of submission.
The journal is published in an online-only format. No printed issue of this title will be produced but authors will still be able to order offprints of their own articles.
