Emerging Editors Program

Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology is a monthly, international, peer-reviewed journal published by Wiley. Throughout forty-seven-year publication, this journal has endeavored to report new frontiers in physiology and pharmacology, emphasizing the translation of basic research to clinical practice. This journal is broad in its coverage that includes, but not limited to, the following topics: clinical and experimental pharmacology and physiology, blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, clinical pharmacology, drugs, experimental pharmacology, heart disease, heart failure, pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, physiology, and toxicology, etc. Research work published on Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology takes a high visibility and wide impact and its contents have been indexed by multiple indexing databases such as Web of Science (2023 JCR Impact Factor 2.4), MEDLINE/PubMed and Scopus, etc.

Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology is a journal of, by and for scientists. In the collegial spirit of offering a fair and rigorous treatment of submissions, all manuscripts are handled by professional academic scientists and a well-balanced Editorial Board provides support, advice and guidance to the journal's development.

Onwards and upwards, to recognize the outstanding contribution of up-and-coming researchers in pharmacology and physiology, we are pleased to announce the "Emerging Editors Program". This program aims to provide an active, creative, and innovative platform for young scholars to communicate scientific ideas, improve academic impact and develop their career. Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology sincerely invites global emerging investigators who have insight, professional foundation, strong interest, and enthusiasm in pharmacology and physiology to join the Editorial Board.

Requirements

  • PhD or MD degree with related research background and working in this area for at least six years.
  • Published at least 10 peer-reviewed papers as the first or corresponding author.
  • Enthusiasm and resources to support the journal with onsite engagement with targeted authors and readers, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Supportive in handling manuscripts (Two manuscripts per year).
  • Promote the journal within research community.
  • Actively provide support and advice for the journal development such as special issues and onsite engagement.

I obtained my PhD in Pharmacology and Toxicology from University of Plymouth. On my first Postdoc, performed on the same research facilities for a period of 1 year from Massachusetts University with Prof. Cynthia L. Baldwin, I organized and supervised projects of 5 PhD students based on original findings developed through my PhD proving my independent thinking and organizational and supervision skills from very early on my career. In 2013, I moved to Kirkuk University (IRAQ) to further develop my career with a Research Center in Pharmacology and Toxicology Field . There, I specialized on the Pharmacology and Toxicology. My formation was complemented from the clinical side in the context of Toxicology. I decided to incorporate as the Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology from the College of Pharmacy. my current Research interests are: Herbal drugs, Natural Product Chemistry, Chromatography, Spectroscopic, Method development of pharmaceutical/chemical analysis, Validation methods. I am currently the leader of the International Association of Veterinary Editors. I won two important national research awards in the field of veterinary and human medicine. Quality of my organization and project management skills are proven by my capacity to establish and maintain an active network which allowed me to publish original research articles in two different laboratories. To date, I have over 100 published peer-reviewed SCI publications (h- index 11 in Scopus; h- index 8 in Web of Sciences; h-index 14 in Scholar), 2 book chapters, and 10 non-indexed publications. I have been awarded twice as best communication in a conference and performed 11 invited talks (USA, UK, Thailand and IRAQ). I am reviewer of 11 and editor of 3 indexed peer-reviewed journals, member of 8 scientific societies, have reviewed projects for several national and international organizations and have been internal reviewer/examiner of 35 PhD dissertations.

Yibei Wang is an Associate Professor of Thoracic Surgery at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University since December 2022. His education journey began at China Medical University, where he earned a Doctorate degree in Cell Biology, after completing a combined Bachelor and Master of Clinical Medicine program from 2007 to 2014. His work mainly focuses on utilizing state-of-the-art experimental immunology and cell biology methods to elucidate the role of the tumor microenvironment in the progression and metastasis of lung cancer. He has received multiple research grants, including the Project of National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Science and Technology Foundation of Liaoning Province. He has a good publication record with his research work featured in journals such as Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology and Journal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research. Yibei also takes multiple roles in health science societies and is a member of the ASCO, ESMO, IASLC, CSCO and CSCB.
