Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A is an interdisciplinary biomaterials journal that features contributions related to the preparation, performance, and evaluation of biomaterials in the fields of medicine, biology, and engineering.  

At the interface of materials science and biomedicine, the journal publishes research on all relevant biomaterial topics, including the science and technology of alloys, polymers, ceramics, and reprocessed animal and human tissues in surgery, dentistry, artificial organs, and other medical devices.

Influence of ionizable lipid tail length on lipid nanoparticle delivery of mRNA of varying length Issue 9, 2024

In this study, we optimize the alkyl tails of ionizable lipids for LNP-mediated delivery of three mRNAs of varying sizes in vivo. Different IL tail lengths were found to be ideal for transfection of LNPs encapsulating the three mRNAs tested. We envision that the results of this project can be utilized as future design criteria for the next generation of LNPs.
