Description

Dynamic systems abound in virtually all areas of science and engineering. The control and optimization of such systems are of paramount importance in many applications, including batch chemical reactions, spacecraft and hypersonic vehicle control, and switching power converters. In recent years, control and optimization methodologies have also been successfully applied to study financial and biological systems.

The purpose of this special issue is to explore the latest advances in dynamic systems, control, and optimization, and in particular the complex interplay between these areas. We invite researchers to submit high-quality research articles on topics related to dynamics, control, and optimization. Both theoretical and applied papers are welcome. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Nonlinear dynamic systems and applications
  • Dynamic optimization and optimal control
  • Optimization theory
  • Mathematical programming
  • Optimal control computation
  • Convergence analysis for optimal control and optimization algorithms
  • Dynamic optimization in engineering applications
  • Control of impulsive, switched, and time-delay systems
