Die Analyse von Ladungsverschiebungen in Gold-Ethin-Komplexen zeigt die Existenz quantitativer Zusammenhänge zwischen messbaren Eigenschaften und den Bestandteilen chemischer Bindungen im Dewar-Chatt-Duncanson-Modell. Durch passende Experimente können diese Bestandteile voneinander separiert und somit entscheidende Erkenntnisse über die Natur von Koordinationsbindungen gewonnen werden.
