Aktive Cysteine im Heuhaufen: Zur Suche nach aktiven Proteinen und Peptiden in aktiven Zentren in einem Proteom dienen meist Methoden wie die quantitative Proteomik und die Proteinprofilerstellung mit aktivitätsgestützten Sonden (ABPs; siehe Bild). Eine kürzlich entwickelte Technik verbindet diese Ansätze für die Identifizierung reaktiver Cysteine – und möglicherweise auch anderer Aminosäuren – in einem komplexen Proteom.
