Äußerst stabile, wasserlösliche Goldnanopartikel 3 wurden hergestellt, die Pyridiniumionen in wässrigen Systemen spezifisch erkennen. Die Partikel sind durch thioalkylierte Oligoethylenglycol-Liganden 1 stabilisiert und solubilisiert. Die spezifische Erkennung wird mit Thiol-modifizierten Calixarenliganden 2 erreicht. Die kräftig farbigen Goldpartikel dienen auch als einfach zu detektierende optische Marker für die spezifischen Bindevorgänge.
