Membranen mit Metall-organischen Gerüsten sind vielversprechend, um die Produktion von Biotreibstoffen zu verbessern. Y.-S. Li, W.-S. Yang et al. beschreiben in der Zuschrift auf S. 10 824 ff., dass in eine Polymermatrix eingebaute ZIF-8-Nanopartikel organischen Verbindungen bevorzugte Permeationswege bieten. Auf diesem Weg wurde eine neuartige organophile Membran für die effiziente pervaporative Abtrennung von Bioalkoholen aus Fermentationsbrühen erhalten.
