Role of the calcium-sensing receptor in regulating vascular function

Representation of the role of the CaSR in the vasculature shows that a rise in extracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]o) stimulates the CaSR expressed at the plasma membrane of perivascular sensory nerves, VECs, and VSMCs, which leads to the release of vasodilator substances (e.g., calcitonin-related gene-related peptide (CGRP), substance P (Sub P), and lipid substances), activation of vasodilatation via nitric oxide (NO)- and endothelium-derived hyperpolarization (EDH)-mediated pathways and vasoconstriction, and proliferation and calcification of VSMCs, respectively.

Hsa_circ_0000515 sequesters microRNA-296-5p and elevates RNF44 expression to encourage the NSCLC progression

In this study, a novel circular RNA_515 (circ_515)/microRNA-296-5p (miR-296-5p)/RING finger protein 44 (RNF44) axis is identified to be closely linked to the pathogenesis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Circular RNA_515 may serve as a novel prognostic biomarker for NSCLC cells whose upregulation enhanced growth and invasiveness of cancer cells through sponging miR-296-5p and activating RNF44.

The opposite effect of ELP4 and ZEB2 on TCF7L2-mediated microglia polarization in ischemic stroke

The opposite effect of ELP4 and ZEB2 on TCF7L2-mediated microglia polarization in ischemic stroke

During IS progression, the upregulated ELP4 promoted the transcriptional activity of TCF7L2 by recruiting H3K27ac to the TCF7L2 promoter, and the decreased ZEB2 protected TCF7L2 protein from ubiquitination degradation. Therefore, the increased TCF7L2 exacerbated cerebral injury by promoting microglia M1 polarization.
