Meta-analysis: The efficacy of therapeutic drug monitoring of anti-TNF-therapy in inflammatory bowel disease

A systematic review and meta-analysis on the efficacy of therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of anti TNF-therapyin inflammatory bowel disease shows several benefits in using proactive TDM. Proactive TDM was associated with reducing treatment failure when compared to standard of care and reactive TDM. It also led to reduced surgical rates, improved clinical and endoscopic remission and response compared to standardof care.

Clinical significance and impact of gastric non-Helicobacter pylori Helicobacter species in gastric disease

Gastric non-Helicobacter pylori Helicobacter infections were frequently detected in gastric patient populations. Eradication of the gastric NHPHs resulted in clinical and histological improvement, pointing to a pathophysiological role of these bacteria.

Risk of colorectal neoplasia according to histologic disease activity in patients with inflammatory bowel disease and colonic post-inflammatory polyps
After controlling for histological activity, pseudopolyps do not increase the risk of colorectal neoplasia in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Histological activity rather than pseudopolyps should be considered in the risk assessment of colorectal neoplasia in IBD.
