About this Journal

Aims and Scope

The Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research is a leading international publication for research in viticulture and oenology. We search the globe to bring the latest and most significant scientific research in these fields onto one platform, with the aim of fostering excellence. For two decades, the AJGWR has been inspiring grape growers, viticulturists and winemakers to improve their practices based on the latest science and shared insights.

The journal publishes original research and review articles in all areas of viticulture and oenology. This includes issues relating to wine, table and drying grape production; grapevine and rootstock biology, genetics, diseases and improvement; viticultural practices; juice and wine production technologies; vine and wine microbiology; effects of processing, packaging and inputs on wine composition (quality); wine chemistry; sensory science and consumer preferences; and environmental impacts of grape and wine production. Research related to other fermented or distilled beverages may also be considered.
