Bruce Cohen, MD

Bruce Cohen, MD, is Professor of Pediatrics and Integrative Medicine at Northeast Ohio Medical University. He is also Director of the Neurodevelopmental Science Center at Akron Children’s Hospital, Director of Scientific Affairs and Clinical Trials at Akron Children’s Hospital Rebecca D. Considine Research Institute, and the Philip H. Maynard Endowed Chair in Neurodevelopmental Science. Cohen attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed a pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, a pediatric neurology residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and a pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His clinical and research interests include mitochondrial disorders, neurofibromatosis, brain tumors, and health care economics, and he has led multiple clinical trials and authored hundreds of peer-reviewed articles and dozens of book chapters. He has served as President of the Child Neurology Society and on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Neurology.
