Licensing
The journal ce/papers is a hybrid Open Access journal published by Ernst & Sohn. This means that it is financed proportionally via a subscription model as well as via revenues from open access publications. ce/papers is available free of charge to most academic institutions under the DEAL initiative in Germany and similar transformational agreements in many other countries around the world.
No costs are involved for the submitting author in the publication of the contributions in ce/papers.
When publishing in ce/papers, authors also have the option of releasing their contributions for Open Access. We make this optional offer to the corresponding author by e-mail from [email protected] in the course of obtaining the necessary rights for publication (Wiley Authors Licensing Service [WALS]).
The transformational agreements mentioned above usually cover Open Access fees and do not have to be paid by the authors. Authors only incur real costs if they wish to publish an Open Access work and no such transformational agreement exists for the author's country of origin, or if none of the authors work at an institution covered by the agreement. In these cases, authors can find out in advance about the APCs (Article Publication Charges) that will be charged.
