Reports from the CDC: MMWR

MMWR

Reports from the CDC: MMWR is a monthly collaboration between AJT and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, edited by Judith Anesi, to reprint selected reports from their Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) that have significant direct implications to the care of transplant patients. Just as the basic science literature has expanded beyond the reach of any single venue, the clinical literature has grown to a size that obscures potentially important information from practicing physicians. This is particularly concerning to transplant clinicians when considering emerging infectious pathogens. This feature aims to improve the dissemination of information regarding important infectious risks, and in doing so facilitate the CDC's mission in providing “expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health.”
