International Association
of Oral Pathologists
The International Association of Oral Pathologists, which was
established in 1976, has as its major objectives the development
and promotion of the practice of oral pathology and the advancement
of knowledge in clinical aspects, laboratory diagnosis and research
in oral pathology and also the encouragement of communication
between individuals of all nations in pursuance of these
objectives. Any individual who is interested in oral pathology is
eligible for membership of the association, provided that such a
person conforms to the recognised standards of professional
ethics.
The IAOP holds a congress every two years. These have been held
in Gothenberg, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Philadelphia, Tokyo,
Hamburg,York and Toronto. The proceedings generally include plenary
lectures, symposia, slide seminars, free communications and
continuing education sessions.
Japanese
Society of Oral Pathology
With
approximately 540 active members, the Japanese Society of Oral
Pathology (JSOP) provides an opportunity for the exchange of
opinions regarding the histopathological investigation and research
of oral diseases.
