Publication Charges

Manuscripts accepted for publication in Alcohol: Clinical & Experimental Research will be assessed a publication charge of $60.00 (U.S.) per page. These funds go directly to support the Research Society on Alcohol(RSA).  Page charges will be waived for members of RSA who are acting as first or corresponding author and whose dues for both the past year and the current year are paid in full. At the time the manuscript is accepted, the RSA office will confirm the membership status of the first or corresponding author. To qualify for the waiver, full dues (not reinstatement fees) must be current and have been so for two concurrent years.

Editorial consideration of a manuscript does not depend on the authors' ability to pay the page charge. However, it is expected that, unless a prior waiver has been granted, the charge will be paid by the authors either through research funds that supported the research or another available source of funding. Requests for a waiver of page charges will be considered at the time of acceptance, but only when a rationale is provided and the request is made at the time of initial manuscript submission.
