Richard J. Smith (Managing Editor) studied chemistry at the Universität Zürich (Switzerland) where he received his doctoral degree in organic chemistry in 2003. In 2002, he joined Wiley-VHCA, Switzerland, as an Editorial Assistant. He leads the Swiss office of Wiley as an Executive Editor. He is responsible for the publication of Helvetica Chimica Acta. In 2022 he joined Chemistry—A European Journal as a Senior Associate Editor. Since November 2023 he took over the role of managing editor of The Chemical Record.
Heiko Kuhn (Senior Associate Editor) earned his PhD in chemistry at the Technische Universität Dortmund (Germany). His thesis work focused on the development of polymer-supported organotin reagents. After graduation, he did postdoctoral work at the University of California, Santa Cruz (USA) on the synthesis of nitroxyl radicals and modified nucleosides. Prior to joining Wiley-VCH in October 2011, he held positions as Senior Research Associate at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University (USA) and as Scientific Editor at the Institute of Molecular Biology, Academia Sinica (Taiwan).
Dinesh Talwar (Consultant Editor) obtained his MChem from Kingston University (London, UK) in 2010. He then obtained his PhD from the University of Liverpool, working on transition metal catalysis, in 2014. He has been with Wiley since 2015, working for various journals. In 2020, he took over the responsibilities of managing The Chemical Record. He became a consultant editor at the journal in November 2023.
Marketing
Torben Quasdorf (Marketing Manager) completed his graduate studies at the Universität Bamberg. He joined Wiley-VCH in 2009 and received his certification as Marketing Specialist from IHK in 2021. He is responsible for a range of journals in chemistry including The Chemical Record.
