Upcoming Special Issue: Mechanisms of Healthy Aging

Much of life today is characterized by chronic, pre-clinical un-wellness, and not necessarily acute life-threatening clinical illness. Healthy aging requires patterns of behavior that are driven by both individual motivations and societal support. This thematic issue is guided by the recognition that healthy aging is a holistic outcome and requires whole person approaches to achieve success. Recent advances in our understanding of causal pathways that underlay ageing-related conditions - and their contextual regulation and inter-connectedness within whole person biology - now enable an examination of mechanistic pathways that underlay healthy ageing at a holistic / whole person level.
