Welcome to the TPJ Features website

The core role of a journal is to oversee the peer-review and publication of high-standard research articles and reviews. Increasingly, however, journals are seeking to provide added value through the publication of commentaries, interviews and other features. As a society journal, The Plant Journal sees these type of features pieces as an important part of its remit, not only because they enable us to promote the excellent science that we publish but also because they allow us to build bridges with our audience and to support the research community.   
We are, therefore, very pleased to introduce you to our dedicated TPJ Features website which is edited by our TPJ Features Editors Haim Treves and Luis de Luna Valdez

Haim is a faculty member in the school of Plant Sciences and Food Security in Tel-Aviv University focusing on metabolic flux analysis in algae and plant. Haim hopes to use the features website to increase the visibility of early-stage projects and promote new interdisciplinary collaborations in plant research.

Luis is a post-doctoral researcher at University of California, Riverside, Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology. Their research interests include the import of cytosolic RNAs into chloroplasts. Luis wants the Features section to spotlight the people behind the science, and to understand where their motivations and passion for science comes from. Luis also wants to highlight the great diversity of the plant biology community.

Haim Trebes Features Editor

If you are interested in contributing to the TPJ features site, either as interviewer or interviewee, or if you’d like to propose a different type of contribution, please contact the Features Editor by email. We are keen to hear from research scientists at any level but especially would like to hear from early career researchers. The Features Editor will be running a series of ‘day in the life’ pieces featuring postdocs and Ph.D. students, so please get in touch if you would like to be featured!
