The international Journal of Urological Nursing is the only international peer reviewed journal which caters for health care professionals (HCPs) who work with patients with urological conditions. This makes the journal content quite specialised at times however there are topics which come under the umbrella of urology which are pertinent wherever HCPs work not just in urology. The articles in this virtual issue give a taste of some of the urological problems patients may experience and the impact on their quality of life as well as how they are treated and managed. They illustrate how having a problem with the urinary tract can impact on a patient’s health and wellbeing as a whole. Yet discussing bladder problems is often cause for embarrassment for patients and so some may not seek help or delay this making the outcome more difficult and uncertain. Also included in the mix are articles describing innovations in practice which may be useful in many a clinical area.
