4,7-Bis­(tri­methyl­silyl­ethynyl)-2,1,3-benzo­thia­diazo­le

The title compound, C₁₆H₂₀N₂SSi₂ is a rigid-rod protected dialkyne. It is used as a model species for platinum-containing compounds of which it is a precursor. Such compounds are of interest due to the extended π-conjugation exhibited through the heteroaromatic linker unit in the backbone. The mol­ecule is pseudo-linear, with a planar central benzo­thia­diazo­le group.
