Abstract

Almost from the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it became evident that access to digital technologies was no longer a luxury but rather a necessity for survival. Work, education, healthcare, and social interactions were pushed further into the digital realm, making the Internet an essential lifeline for billions of people. However, this sudden shift further exacerbated an already existing divide in societies – the digital one.
