Abstract

AsiaBarometer is a large-scale, comprehensive, and comparative quality of life survey on Asia based on nationwide random sampling and face-to-face interviewing. It covers 29 Asian societies and three western societies adjacent to Asia. Among the substantive findings are that there are five types of Asian societies and three key dimensions of Asian social capital, and that happiness is related to wealth, religion, and community.
