Haire, Norman (1892–1952)
Abstract
Norman Haire graduated in medicine from the University of Sydney in 1915 and after moving to London, was at the forefront of campaigns for birth control and sexual law reforms in the 1920s and 1930s. He was a prolific author and researcher and an eloquent lecturer. Haire bequeathed his papers and books to the University of Sydney Rare Books and Special Collections Library. The collection includes Haire's correspondence with Magnus Hirschfeld, Havelock Ellis, and other prominent sexologists.
